Welcome to our little corner of the community
Just a quick post to say hello to everyone that drops in. We hope that you take some time over the next few weeks and months as we approach the election to take the time and become educated about the candidates that are on the ballot.
There is so much political news crossing our feeds and email inboxes these days, and it is tough to sort out what is what. Sometimes the volume of controversies is overwhelming and it often feels like it’s nothing but two sides yelling at one another.
But I challenge you to stop and consider WHY the two sides are yelling. What makes them different and what are the commonalities between the parties involved.
Admittedly, some of the individuals behind the Citizens for Purcellville can be accused of being in on some of the shouting. But we also think that if you took the time to actually learn about some of the behaviors and conduct of some of our elected officials (or their political appointees), you too would be frustrated.
So, in that spirit, we have created this effort and website.
Over the next weeks and months, we hope to document for our community everything that has happened. We hope to share information, supported by documents, videos, and analysis that creates a more educated town population.
And most importantly, we hope to work towards a stronger and more functional town governance and long term stability for all of the people who live in and around the Town of Purcellville.
We hope that you will join us on this journey.
Sincerely,
The Collective Volunteers behind the Citizens of Purcellville Coalition

Is there a list of names of leadership?
Hi Matthew!
Thanks for asking. This is certainly a fair question.
And while we believe in transparency, for now we also believe that a certain level of caution and prudence is warranted, for a variety of reasons. Some are deeply private individuals, others have businesses in town and want to support our effort but not draw negative attention to their business, some have concerns about personal safety, others have what we consider legitimate fear of retribution from their employer.
Of course with formal regulatory campaign filings at least one or more of our supporters is likely to eventually be made public. Our hope is that even once our identities are known it doesn’t bias people against the information we intend to present. I expect that within a week or two at least one or two of the primary organizers will become public due to the nature of statutory reporting requirements or town permits.
What I will say is that we are a group of engaged citizens who have become more and more concerned with the direction our town is headed over the past two-three years. Most have been active in various social media channels, in town council meetings, and within the community.
We are supported financially by ourselves and donors from the community. We are NOT affiliated with or directly supporting any candidate, however the information that we present (the simple truth) is probably not very favorable to at least one of the candidates in this election.
We believe that an informed voter is an empowered voter, and that cutting through the misinformation is of critical importance to our town.
We are willing to challenge all candidates equally in asking the tough questions about what issues our town faces.
We are also open to additional citizen input and participation. If you would like to be involved in this effort, or contribute to an article about an issue our town faces, you can reach out via the contact form on our website or send a DM on our Facebook page.
At the end of the day, we hope to engage both the candidates and local citizens in productive discussions about the future of our town.
